The Adventures of Pow Wow the Indian Boy is an animated cartoon that played on the Captain Kangaroo show during the 1950's. The cartoon featured a pre-adolescent Pow Wow, the tribe's medicine man, and an Indian girl who was a friend of Pow Wow's. The cartoons were often centered on Pow Wow's discovery of an animal, hurt or otherwise, and his attempts to protect the forest and wildlife from various threats. When Pow Wow needed help in these missions, he would seek counsel from the wise medicine man.

The series was produced by Tempe-Toons and presented by Leo and Walter Minskoff. Its executive producer was Leon Marcus, and it was directed by Sam Singer. Tom Baron was in charge of the series' animation, and Ben Hardaway was its writer. The cartoon's music was produced by Monty Kelly.

Pow Wow first aired on January 30, 1949. In 1956, it was broadcast on the popular children's show, Captain Kangaroo and was syndicated by Screen Gems.
